so my sister got married last night. I was expecting to be uncomfortable the entire time, but in all honesty it was really nice and actually rather fun. Some of jeff's family makes me somewhat uncomfortable at times, but for some reason i got kind of used to it and just let it go. The ceremony was nice and i managed to get drunk at the reception, while at the same time not embarrasing my family.

good job tony

pics to come eventually

i think i like my job, granted im still in training. Sofar everyday this week we did practically the same exact thing. Practice posing, set up equipmet, take down equipment, read maps, go over car stuff, set up equipment, take down equipment, set up equipment, take down equipment, do ice breakers, learn about paperwork.

really repetative, but each day we went more and more indepth on the items.

However, today we got our photo id's taken (the spelt my name wrong. I am not Anthonhy Grigas, so now i have 2 id's) and afterward we went on a scavanger hunt across the 6 counties. We had 2 hours to go to different schools on the list and take our photo infront of it, plus collect random things on the way like a ketchup packet, dunkin donuts napkin, wawa coffee sleeve, picture with a horse, and last but not least one of those wait in line number tickets.

after we raced back to the office (my group came in second) we got to color and go home.

lol i can't believe i got paid for this.

On monday i get to go to my first school to take photos, despite the fact that my training isnt really over yet. My boss gave me my assignment today, and apparently i have to drive to a school in berks county thats about an hour and a half away. thats not too bad, but i have to be there by 6:55am or earlier, which means tony has to wake up and leave far to earlier then he would like to

but hey

im actually somewhat using my degree!!!

im in a funk
i can't get out of it

ive begun to realize how awful i am at meeting people.
its ridiculous how i have nothing to do. all i do is lie down watch tv and sleep. maybe things will change once my job starts

i almost wish i was going to school or something down here, mainly so i would have something to do, cause right now im bored and miserable

i just want to know people other than my roommate, his girlfriends, and a few people in the city who i hang out with once in a blue moon

this sucks

p.s. my phone is broken so if anyone tried to call me and i didn't answer, you now know why. not like anyone tried to call me or anything, but just incase

it will be back by monday or tuesday

sooo...

im officially moved now
for the most part atleast. I still have to go back to clarks summit this weekend and pick up more shit.

I kind of left during my sisters bridal shower, so i got out of there as fast as i could cause i didn't want to be there

so a couple days ago i was trying to roll down my window and it got stuck. i gave it a little push to help it along its way and wound up knocking the window completely off track
because of this and all the other shit thats been going on with my car I was extremely frustrated and didn't want to use it for the big move

the next day i hear my sisters fiance talking about how they have this truck at the dealership he works at. Its a stick shift, bright blue, in great condition, and i can get it fairly cheap

so in other words I HAVE A FUCKING TRUCK!!!

im not too good at driving it, since it is my first stick shift, but i can get around for the most part

i got it for $1500!!!! SO CHEAP!!!!! it is just a bench seat and a bed with a cap on it, so i can actually transport stuff now! HOW EXCITING

pics to come eventually

A day in the life of tony

to settle all of your inquiring minds, i decided to post what it is like to experience my everday life.
today is in exception as it is both the worst and somewhat ok day, i'll share my stories for your amusement, cause they are kind of funny.

So today started off at around 8 am when i woke up to watch the two small children i tend to call my niece and nephew. they were insane as always and my sister was asleep cause she works the graveyard shift at an answering service for doctors in the night time

stef bush came over so we could put together some of the programs for the final for arts alive. she got to witness how insane my niece actually is as she brought over all her barbies and constantly asked questions.... for 3 hours

i left my house around 3:10 because i told one of the teachers of arts alive that i would work for him this weekend with his catering service. i go to pick up this other kid who is helping out this night and he forgot about it, so i had to wait about 15 minutes for him to get ready and get going.

we got to the wedding reception around 4. i have no idea what im doing. im assuming people will help. and they do somewhat.

we all get paired up (a runner and a server) for the food and my partner (the server) is also the head server for the main table with the bridal and groom party along with my 3 tables

im sure ur probably not asking, but i began to though "how can he do both at once"

well it turned out he really couldn't

so i had to run my food and serve it all the while of not having any idea of what i was doing

halfway through the reception, the heat from the people dancing seemed to overcome the air conditioning. normally this wouldn't matter much, but i was wearing a 3 piece tuxedo (it had tails, i fuckin rocked it)
it was so hot it was ridiculous everytime i came back into the kitchen i had to get a napkin and wipe the sweat off my face. it was gross.

after 8 hours of this ridiculousness we finally get to leave

i drop byron off at his house and as i begin to leave i realize "hey... there sure is a lot of smoke poring out of the hood of my car... i should probably see whats going on"

byron doesn't live in the greatest area. im somewhat stranded on the side of the road with what appears to be a busted radiator or thermostat not too sure kind of dark

i call my dad who is incanada cause i really have no idea what to do
with the cellphones not being all that great in canada i can somewhat hear over his grumpy tiredness that i should put water in the antifreeze tank.

so i wait for the smoke to stop pourin gout of my car and decide to just go for it and get to a better area to get water

i drive back to clarks summit, park my car, and go in for some water

a couple seconds later this lady comes in going "SOMEBODYS CAR IS SMOKING REAL BAD!!!!!!!" to which i reply "yeah.... thats me"

i ask the guy at the counter for his advice, but he wasn't too helpful and just kind of mumbled

so here i am, sitting on the curb at a gas station waiting for my car to cool down so i wont get scalded by whats left of my antifreeze when i realize im not alone

2 spaces over from me was this black dude, practically in the same position as i was asking if i was overheated too

it was straight out of a movie i tell you
me a random young adult wearing part of a tuxedo sitting on a curb next to a ghetto man trying to get back to the bronx
he was amazing

so we talked for a little bit and then 2 other females came out of the gas station

the one kept talking about how she needed to stop cause she was gonna puke and she hates that, the other one was rather quiet

im assuming the dude and the first girl are dating and or married

they then begin to go into explicit detail about how she gives him blowjobs while he drives

..... i have absolutely no idea where this came from

it completely caught me offguard and all i could do was smile and laugh along with them cause i mean come on... its funny

a half hour passes and we're still there shootin the breeze and just talking and i decide, hey why not go for it and see if my car is cool enough. I get a few paper towels and begin to open my antifreeze compartment thing. its all good so i put in the water. As soon as i closed the hood i heard something hit the ground

the fucking front casing of my blinker light fell off, so now instead of having a regular diffused blinker i have this fucking spot light as i turn

we parted ways and said our goodbyes

that was fun

straight out of a movie

and now im home and wondering if my car is smoking in the garage
the end
oh man....

so tomorrow my boss is being the guest speaker for this organization called POWER!
She's giving her speech on how the arts are important for education etc etc.
Because of this, she asked stef bush and I to have the members of the organization paint a mural as they walk in, not really give them a choice, just hand them a brush and make them paint. So im excited for that, but on the contrary she also asked us to paint our reactions to the dance as the dancers are dancing. we have two giant canvases to paint on infront of the audience. i haven't painted in a while, nor have I done lifedrawing style painting...... im nervous

and on top of all that, governor rendell is gonna be there......

oh man what did i get myself into

im sure i'll be fine....

too much pressure

so my sister has me watching Dead Like Me on sci fi
its an interesting show

and i have to admit, i really like the opening credits.

Arts alive is now in progress. Im doing less teaching and more assisting the director. it's a bit of a change, but it keeps me busy. plus i feel as if ive actually done something during the day, despite the fact that what im doing is calling dick blick and utrecht yelling at them for not having our orders in.... its a pain in the ass i tell ya

i officially move in a couple weeks, im pretty excited for that and all that crap

later

They were making a brief report that went something along the lines of this "Philadelphia woman found dead last night, police have a suspect and are searching for her, but first a quick look at fireworks" - go to display of fireworks for about 30 seconds - then come back and finish the report

i don't get it

so i think i hate being in transitional stages of life. where i know something is going to happen, i just have to wait for it for a couple months.

all i do is sleep, work, and drink. fanstastic life style i lead

sleeping is slowly taking over my life, then it leaves me with random nights of insomnia in which i sit and watch tv and crappy hbo movies such as the new starwars which im watching right now. not sure if its crappy, i never watched it

i have nothing to do

its a little warm in my room

so im at my new place, and i love it

i really don't want to go back to clarks summit and my crappy job. i wish the real world will somewhat start already so i can be here instead of there. I am looking forward to arts alive though, i really do love that program.

Right now my roommate, his girlfriend, and yvonne are all playing super mario wars. its fun

went to a wedding today
it was nice

im rather kind of lazy right now and don't feel like typing alot
the end

well... im an alumnus

quite funny cause technically we never finished the ceremony
everyone just kind of got up and left while the thunder started, but luckily i was like number 7 or 8 of the undergrads to get their "diploma" so i was kind of just sitting there playing hang man and texting people

i saw a lot of people that i haven't seen in a while it was fun
i talked to sara deviva. I haven't talked to her in like a year or so, shes nice, i like talkin to her. Im kind of sad that i lost touch with her during school, shes a nice one

it still hasn't hit me that im not goin back, despite the fact that i am still going back every so often to print every so often

its nice though
it is
